Improve Your Relationships, Improve Your Health
The health of our mind, body, and soul is directly influenced by the ways in which we love ourselves and others whom we hold dear in our lives.
We must continue to nourish our minds, bodies, and relationships with the loving care and attention they need in order for them to not just survive, but thrive.
Here are 7 tips for creating a healthy, loving relationship with yourself and others:
1. Embrace and align with your values, priorities, and deepest desires so that you can live a "soul driven" life rather than a "should" driven life. When we live in alignment with the desires and needs of our soul, we experience health. When we live out of alignment with the desires and needs of our soul, we experience dis-ease.
2. Embrace your humanity. Allow yourself to make mistakes but learn from them. If you don't learn from your mistakes the first time you are likely to continue experiencing more of what you don’t want and that becomes your future.
3. Embrace your inner child. Take time to listen to the parts of you that feel unseen, afraid, and unworthy so that you can build trust and create safety within yourself. Only then can you feel trust and safety in a relationship with another.
4. Embrace your spiritual adult. Take responsibility for the ways in which your past choices have negatively influenced the quality of your health and of your relationships so that you can begin making more conscious choices that can create a healthier and happier future.
5. Embrace ALL of your emotions, not just the ones that make you feel good. Every emotion is like an offering that provides us insight into the complexity of who we are and what we experience in any given moment. When we allow ourselves to stay present with experiences that make us feel uncomfortable, we grow in our courage and ability to confront and heal our shame.
6. Embrace yourself. Take time to prioritize self-care. Healthy relationships make room for you to express and claim your own needs without making them a problem.
7. Embrace your loved ones. Literally. Giving and receiving love in the form of touch sustains our health at a cellular level.
